Melbourne dog trainer & entrepreneur
Meet Chris Loverseed
Chris is an Australian entrepreneur and the founder, owner and head trainer of Positive K9 Training. He is NDTF-qualified and has been working professionally in dog training since 2009.
Chris works with dogs and their owners on the skills that matter at home and out in the world: puppy foundations, calm behaviour, coming when called and walking on a loose lead.
His work combines hands-on training with helping owners understand their dogs. At Positive K9, he also leads the team and oversees its VIP training programmes.

Approach & experience
Training the dog. Supporting the owner.
Chris has had a lifelong interest in how dogs behave. Alongside his National Dog Trainers Federation qualification, he values the practical lessons that come from working with dogs and their owners.
His training advice connects everyday habits with skills owners can practise: helping a puppy settle at home, teaching recall and building loose-lead walking. Understanding the dog and helping the family take part are central to that work.
Chris’s role includes introducing owners to puppy training and overseeing the VIP programme. The wider Positive K9 team delivers training across Melbourne.

Nicki & Bella’s training journey

From the archives · 2013–2014
In her account of training Bella, a German Shepherd, Nicki describes working with Chris and the Positive K9 team over 16 months. Alongside group training, Chris helped with extra park sessions involving his dog Koda as they worked on Bella’s reactions to other dogs.
It is a story of sustained practice, owner commitment and support from the training team.
